Excel Global Security, through our subsidiaries Excel Security Corp, Excel Guard Corp and Excel Monitoring Corp. is a full service provider of the highest quality security systems and protective services.  

Excel was founded by the late Sanford (Sandy) Garelik. Sandy served as Chief of the New York City Police Department, President of the New York City Council and Chief of the New York City Transit Police Department. Sandy’s commitment to excellence remains pervasive throughout Excel Global Security as is evidenced by our dedication to protecting persons, corporations and facilities. 

Today Excel employs more than 450 persons and secures in excess of 25 million square feet of facilities. Excel’s distinct advantage resides in the fact that we are a full service security provider offering both electronic systems and personnel services. Our Command Center offers a unique advantage from which we can effectively monitor all of the people and places we are contracted to protect.

SECURITY TRAINING INSTITUTE

The Excel Security Training Institute was one of the 1st training schools certified by the State of New York.  The Institute includes certified instructors from the New York City Police Department and the United States Military.  Our guest lecturers come from the intelligence and law enforcement communities and also include specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

SANFORD D. GARELIK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Sanford served as Chief Inspector of the New York City Police Department, the highest position in the department responsible for a force of over 35,000 personnel. He was also elected President of the New York City Council, one of the three highest elected government officials in New York City.

Sandy's distinguished law enforcement experience included serving as Chief of the New York City Transit Police Department and Director of Security for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in charge of security for the nation's largest transportation system. He worked on all aspects of law enforcement and government on the international, national and municipal levels.

As a professor, consultant and author, Sandy educated thousands of individuals throughout the world in all areas of security, law enforcement and government.

In Sandy’s honor Excel Global Security has created the Sanford D. Garelik Memorial Scholarship Fund.
