Excel Cares Program
All of us at Excel strongly believe in supporting and improving our shared community. Public service is an important part of our core belief and, toward that end, everyone in the management group of the company dedicates their time and resources to various charities and organizations.
Sanford D. Garelik Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Sanford D. Garelik Memorial Scholarship, part of The New York Police Department’s Captains Endowment Association’s Scholarship Fund, provides college scholarships to students of active and retired New York City Police Department members. This fund is supported through donations and fund raisers throughout the year including the Annual NYPD Sanford D. Garelik Memorial Golf Outing. This past year, over 100 scholarships were awarded.
New Jersey State Police Survivors of the Triangle
Excel is the primary sponsor of the New Jersey State Police Survivors of the Triangle organization and has been for the last 15 years. The fund supports the surviving members of Troopers who have been killed in the line of duty. The fund is supported through various donations and an annual Memorial Golf Outing, held each October.
Starlight Children’s Foundation / Encourage Kids Foundation
For the past 25 years, Excel has been one of the primary sponsors of Starlight Children’s Foundation / Encourage Kids Foundation. The organization empowers children facing severe health challenges to lead their lives through cost-free family outings and uplifting hospital programs. Excel focuses our donations and services on improving the emotional well-being of sick children, and the programs offer relief from the constant burden of treatment, hospital stays and doctor’s appointments for more than 400,000 children annually.
Broadway Cares Actors Equity Fights Aids
Excel has donated security services and resources to BCEFA for over 28 years. Neal Garelik served as a member of the Board. BCEFA is one of the nation’s leading industry-based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. BCEFA funds the social service work of The Actors Fund and awards grants to AIDS service organizations nationwide.
